Snapchat/Youth Registration portfolio.

We decided early in the campaign we wanted to do this as Sasha’s time was limited and we lived in a unique riding where ⅓ of the voter base is aged 18-30 which is Snapchat’s prime user base. Snapchat campaigns can be very expensive if you pay a 3rd party to do everything for you, fortunately they had me and I did everything for them. We had 7512 users that used it reaching approximately 20k people on a budget of 200 dollars! We went with a photo filter as a filter which would convince people to share them with all their friends. 

 

A Lot of young people don’t know how to vote, hence why their numbers have always been a little lower compared to the general population.  Etobicoke-Lakeshore has a large youth population. It’s one of the ridings in Canada with the largest youth vote. Humber College Lakeshore is so big here that Humber students count for ¼ of the vote on their own here.

I ran the youth registration campaign in 2019/2021 for the riding and my media played an important role in getting one of the highest turnouts in Canada in 2019. I had Sasha make a video on how to register to vote. I pushed how to vote heavily online, and did some guerilla advertisements on Humber campus. Immediately we had the highest turnout we ever had at Humber College. We pushed heavily for advanced voting, having some of the highest advanced polling we’ve ever had.
